Risewell Foundations has identified a lack of available mentorship in support basic credentialing, and advanced credentialing as a significant barrier to providing ethical and evidence based services to the greater community. We are committed to helping our community RISE with us.
Risewell Foundation is working diligently to develop a 30 hour clinical mentorship course aimed to help Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapist be eligible for the American Hippotherapy Certification Board Exam.
Prerequisites
This small cohort mentorship will:

Risewell Foundation is working diligently to develop a 30 hour clinical mentorship course aimed to help instructors prepare materials, and obtain mentorship to be eligible for the PATH Int. Certified Therapeutic Ridding Instructor Exam.
The PATH Int. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) credential is voluntary and serves as an entry-level qualification for professionals in the equine-assisted services (EAS) field. CTRIs provide riding instruction with therapeutic value to individuals with higher support needs than can be supported by a traditional riding school. This instruction may involve mounted or unmounted work in ethical partnership with an equine. PATH Intl. CTRIs meet established criteria and adhere to standards of practice, demonstrating their expertise in understanding health needs and health conditions, equines, teaching, and human-animal interactions.

We look forward to taking clinical placements for the 2025-2026 term. We currently have opportunities for Doctoral level Occupational Therapy Students.

Risewll Founders did not come by access to the equine world easily. We intimately understand the systemic and signific fiscal barriers in perusing equine sports, equine professions, and equine access. We are committed to providing working student positions for adolescent and adults 16 or older. Working students dedicate a predetermined amount of volunteer hours for riding, mentorship, and show/ competitive experiences. We believe in helping our organization Rise within, and priority will be given to previous or current program participants.
